The PISCES Research Program is a part of the UCSD Center for Energy Research and performs fundamental and applied experimental research in the field of boundary plasma science for fusion applications. The Program is organized into three principle research thrusts:

1. Physics of the plasma boundary region
2. Plasma materials interactions science
3. Plasma facing systems technology.
